As the photo indicates, we had a packed house for our opening gala at the Project Lodge (with three rows you can’t even see toward the stage, and people on the perimeter of the stage itself as well). We also had a good deal of excellent food brought by readers and listeners. Most importantly, we had six astonishing poets, and the curve their work made collectively was nearly as moving, exciting and strange as the individual works themselves. Thanks to everyone who came–having such a big crowd until the end was a delight, and a good piece of evidence that people will gladly hear two hours of poetry if the poetry is good. Here’s to that old-fashioned phenomenon, the attention span!
